Parent Update - May 15, 2020

Dear Main Street Preschool Family,

Regardless of the way we are ending it, we have come to the last week of our school year. I still stand by previous statements in letters, emails and blogs where I declare the 2019-20 school year a success. We were able to drastically increase enrollment, adding to our Main Street family making us stronger and even more diverse. Children found safe spaces to learn and be challenged each day, and in doing so grew academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. And during these last few months, we have learned just how much we mean to one another.

So, the question that is on everyone mind now is, “What happens next?”

Well we do have plans for next year! We are preparing in much the same way we always plan and forecast a new school year. It will be our goal to offer all the age levels and classes that we offered this year – Parent’s Day Out through Kindergarten. We will staff those classes according to the same classroom ratios that we have always advertised, based on age level and number of children per room. And, as always, every bit of this is contingent on enrollment.

So, when you ask me “What classes will you offer?” And my answer is, “Well, as long as enrollment is as anticipated we will continue as we have,” this is what I mean: OUR PLANS DEPEND ENTIRELY ON YOUR PLANS.

In short, we need you to enroll if this is your intent for the 2020-21 school year. Please remember that this is not a binding contract, nor do I require a month’s tuition to secure your child’s place in the school. And should your plans change at any time during the next few months, you are not obligated in any way to honor a monthly tuition to Main Street Preschool. All we require at this point, is a pre-registration fee of $75. This discounted rate is available through June 15, 2020.

Soon, the teachers and I will be “out for summer.” We are not contracted during the summer months, so you won’t find me back in the office until August 1. However, I can commit to regularly letting you know where we stand with enrollment numbers by giving you monthly updates in both June and July. I am, of course, still here for your family in any way that I can serve you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out by email at with questions or concerns at any point during the summer months.

We will be in further contact with our families regarding an End of the Year/Graduation Celebration and the possibility of Summer Arts Camp once those decisions have been finalized. Until then, stay safe and well and have a great summer!

God’s Peace,

Vangie Rodenbeck
